  • A great new addition to Westfield. It’s BYO so make sure to bring a bottle of wine (or two). The ambiance was nice and romantic. I really loved the decor. Started with the bacon wrapped plantains. Omg! Get this! You won’t be disappointed. I went with the classic Ropa Vieja as my entree and it came with two sides. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Ended the meal with the Tres leches cake and it was one of the best I’ve had. It was not overly sweet and the cake had a perfect texture. Overall, I was very impressed with the food and service.

  • Trust me this place is worth the wait. The owner is extremely personable and very much involved in his craft. I recommend this location for a nice lunch or dinner, dress is semi casual/ business casual and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or even a birthday!

  • Based on prior reviews, I’m glad to have come here for late lunch/early dinner on a weekday. Even our server mentioned how deafening the noise and crowd is on the weekend. Our table spoke to the owner and even she mentioned how overwhelmed she was feeling as a result of how quickly the restaurant was booming. This is certainly a good problem to have and reflects how great the food, atmosphere, and service at 1958 Cuban Cuisine is.

The food here is the most authentic Cuban food I’ve had in the area. The food alone is worthy of a 5-star review. All the entrees give you the option of two sides. I ordered the bistec de palomilla with congri and yuca con mojo, which is my typical order when at a Cuban restaurant. I thought the steak was tougher than what I’ve had in the past and it could have had more onions, but the congri and yuca con mojo made up for it. To me, the star of the entree was the yuca con mojo. Everything about it was spot on and I highly recommend it. Despite being full by this point, I had to try the coconut flan. Wow. I’m not kidding or being dramatic when I say it left me speechless. …the parking is free in the Westfield train station across the street, the food is spot on, and the ambiance and service are great. I look forward to coming here to eat again!

  • Came in here by accident and really enjoyed it. Had lunch today. My wife had ropa vieja and I had a Cubano. My Cubano was a standard issue Cubano sandwich. Well executed, served with fries or plantain chips. I had the fries. Nice and crispy. I tried an iron beer, which is a soft drink similar to cola, but different. My wife had ropa, shredded beef flank with peppers onions and garlic in a tomatoey sauce. Included two sides. She had yuca and Cuban rice and beans. She loved everything. She also has Cuban latte and tres leches cake. Very good. The service was very friendly and good. We felt that it was a good value for the quality of the food. Forty bucks before tip, which is what you pay for lunch in Westfield. I am always happy when i find a family run place that i can recommend.  Will return.

  • Wonderful authentic Cuban food! Lovely service. We came in on Friday night without a reservation and they accommodated us after a short wait. The ropa vieja was delicious, the side dishes were yummy too. yuca, black beans sweet banana, everything Cuban all prepared perfectly and portion sizes were generous. Plus it’s a BYOB. Waitstaff is very helpful.
